When Stella Tarakason’s blog appeared in my inbox, I of course immediately read it.  Moving down the page and enjoying the information about the Liebster Award, and as always, Stella’s wonderful writing.  Then I came to the part where she nominates other bloggers passing the Liebster Award along to those.  I did not expect to see my blog listed and had to reread it a couple of times to be sure.  It brought tears to my eyes that Stella thought that much of my blog to nominate me.  To publicly more or less endorse my writing, my thoughts, my musing.  She after all is a published author plus teachings writing.  So to me it is a big deal.  In times past, long years ago now, I enjoyed being honored with various awards for publicity and advertising campaigns.  Many of those still hang on the walls by my computer.  It always seemed so second nature to me to create the campaigns and when receiving an award, it seemed so surreal because writing and such has never felt like work to me.  Those were special and I was always grateful to be among those honored with awards.  Some how though to have Stella nominate me for the Liebster Award held much more merit to me then the awards that hang on my walls.  Perhaps it is because I write just random stuff.  Thoughts.  Events.  Little things that are sometime big things on life’s path.

Stella Tarakson writes a lovely blog which is entertaining and informative.  She is a published author of children’s books and while I have not read her books, my instincts tell me, her audience loves them.  She is an attorney as well which in itself is a challenging path to walk.  We are miles apart in our locations.  Oceans actually yet at times I feel she is just down the block from me.  I enjoy her writings.  Her comments and our exchanges from time to time.  It is what makes blogging worthwhile and rewarding.  You may follow her at http://stellatarakson.com

So here are my answers to Stella’s questions:

What made you decide to take up blogging?

It was all very foreign to me, blogging,  yet I felt it may be an outlet for my desire to write just short musings so I blundered through only writing once in a while then suddenly enjoying it that I now try to blog at least once a week.

What does your family think about you being a blogger?

I live alone with cats and the cats are rather indifferent to what I do other then feed them.  My daughter long ago left home and has her own life.  I think she may from time to time read my blogs since those are posted to my facebook page.

At what time of day do you do your most productive writing/blogging?

For the most part I am a morning person rising early.  I begin my day with coffee and writing in my journal.  This is a luxury to me since I no longer have demands on time other then of course the stomping of paws for tuna in the morning.  Sometimes I blog in the morning, other times it is late in the day.  It really is when a thought comes to me and when I feel the blog coming together in my mind.

What is your favorite form of social media and why?

This question threw me for a moment because social media is so much a part of our worlds now.  I think though I may like facebook because I am connected with so many people I no longer see and others I have never met.  Blogging while not what I consider social media, although I suppose it falls into the category, is parallel with Facebook because like with Stella, I am able to interact with so many people from all over the world.  So I love that.

What is your most vivid childhood memory?

I don’t think much about my childhood for various reason mostly it was because life was not easy yet when there were times of pleasantness, my most favorite was perhaps sitting on the back steps of our small house on the farm enjoying big bowls of ice cream.  Daddy and I would sit on the bottom step, my older sister and my Mother on the top step.  The ice cream was always so rich and such a treat.

Do you have an all time favourite book or author?

I have several yet since I need to choose I must say Richard Bode for his little books about life.  There is much to be learned through his little books, First You Have to Row a Little Boat, Blue Sloop at Dawn, and Beachcombing at Miramar.  Over the years I have given away these books to friends who seem to be in need of the words yet I always order another copy for myself and now have all three among my treasured books.  Mr. Bode unfortunately is no longer with us and these are the only books he published in his lifetime, yet his writing is wonderful and his message the same.

What was your favourite subject at high school?

Literature of course.  I so enjoyed having the assignment to read a book and then to write a book review.

Where would you like to go on holiday, assuming no money restraints?

I would love to return to Scotland, see the area where I lived and then venture over to the continent for an extended period of time, perhaps returning to Santorini for a bit of sun on the black beaches and the spiritualness that island offers.

Which superpower do you wish you had and why?

It really is not I suppose a superpower however I wish I could read and speak fluently French, Spanish and Greek because I feel if we can effectively communicate with on in their own language then we can better hear their soul.

What would you like to share about yourself that your readers might not know?

Actually I don’t think I have shared that much of myself with the readers of my blogs.  Oh yes I have talked in my writings about events, the affects.  Yet since I am such a private person and seldom reveal much about myself more out of shyness then anything else, I suppose it would be good for readers to know I am a complicated person.  I have so many interests and blessed with many talents for which I am grateful however it makes it difficult to know which to pursue on any given day.  It is the way with most artists.  It isn’t just one talent we are blessed with, for some reason we receive a basket full that challenges us to know which one to pursue.  And so it is.

And now I would like to pass on this same honor of Liebster Blog Award to the following:

Olga Todd  http://olgatodd.wordpress.com

Dennis Cardiff  http://gottafindahome.wordpress.com

Cheri Lucas Rowland  http://writingthroughthefog.com

My questions to each of your are as follows:

1.What do you enjoy most in your day?   2. What is your favorite food?  3. Where is your most favourite place to write?  4. Do you like the sea or the mountains, or both and why? 5. What is your favourite genre?  6. Where would you live if you could?

Thanks so much to Stella and to all those who read, follow and share the blogging world.  May each of you have a fabulous day.
