Slow Days

Why is it that come days we whirl around with so much accomplished then the next day we fall into wanting to read a good book or meander.

Today I look out my window at a lovely grey overcast day.  Love days like these.  It brings out the quiet creative soul and does so in many.  There is a slight drizzle forming droplets down the rain chains, gently plopping from one cup to the next.  It seems a good day to transport the mind to somewhere else.  To dream a bit.  To think things through perhaps.

Projects need to be completed, roses need to be planted yet today, those may have to wait for a good book calls.  Even my cats seem to take the tone of the day.  Lazing around with full tummies after breakfast.  Not that they do too much else anyway, however they seem in slow motion today.  Animals seem to be much wiser then humans.  They tend to go with the flow of things…well for the most part.  They are aware of the weather, the flow of nature and they just accept it.  Today I suppose if I was a cat, I would lounge around.  Today as a human, I think the cats are saying just read.  Loose yourself for a day.  It is so good for the soul…that is what I think they would say.

So this lovely grey overcast, drippy day, nudges the soul to go with the slow feel of the day.

And why not!
